Doncaster DARTES hosted their annual B/C Grade Sprint Gala at Beverley Leisure Complex on Sunday 20th April 2014. York City Baths Club was represented by 19 upcoming swimmers from the Development and County Squads.
The events consisted of 50m sprints in all four strokes plus a 100m Individual Medley (IM) and medals were awarded to the top 6 swimmers for each gender/grade, with trophies for the top boy/girl in each age group (9yrs, 10yrs, 11/12yrs, 13/14yrs, 15 and over). For competitors who swam faster than their graded entry cut off times, Speeding Tickets (ST) were awarded, indicating a need to aim higher for future events.
Congratulations go to Samuel Pickup who out-swam the other 20 competitors in his age group to lift the trophy in the top 10 year old boy category.
