Three York City Baths Club swimmers achieved a nine medal haul at the British Masters and Senior Age Group Championships, held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, from 1st to 3rd April 2016.
The event represents the pinnacle of the domestic masters swimming calendar, attracting top swimmers from across the country.
The weekend was a huge success for York swimmers, who bought home a total of nine medals.
Louise Highton swam gold medal winning times in the ladies 25-29 years 50m (28.49) and 100m (1:01.35) Freestyle events and also picked up a bronze medal in the 200m (2:16.83) Freestyle.
Emma Wills came home with five silver medals in the ladies 35-39 years age group from the 200m (2:16.83), 400m (4:48.77) and 800m (10:03.22) Freestyle and the 100m (1:13.40) and 200m (2:36.50) Backstroke.
Nick Boaz won a bronze medal in the men’s 25-29 years 50m Breaststroke (32.01) and finished in the top 6 in his three remaining events: 100m (1:13.49) Breaststroke, 50m (25.88) and 100m (57.00) Freestyle.
The success reflects the hard work put in by all three swimmers; well done Louise, Emma and Nick!
