Nathan Carrington, Development Squad swimmer, brings home some GOLD

Nathan Carrington, Development Squad swimmer, recently competed at National Junior Para-Swimming Championships 2017. The event was funded by Swim England and delivered by the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS).

Held at Sunderland Aquatics Centre on 24 and 25 June, the event provided young disabled swimmers with more competition experience and an opportunity to win medals against national rivals.

Harrogate Summer Graded short course meet – June 2017

Swimmers from four of our training squads (County, Club, National and Regional) competed in the Harrogate Summer Graded short course meet. For most swimmers who raced this was the first short course competition of 2017.

The meet was highly successful for YCBC swimmers with over 75% of the swims as personal best times and winning 50 medals in the process. A number of swimmers also achieved Winter Yorkshire times over the weekend.

Swim England North East Age Group and Youth/Senior Championships – May 2017

Over the final two weekends in May, 18 York City Swimmers competed at the Swim England NER Championships.

This event for many swimmers is the highest level meet of the season and is fiercely competitive. It was a fantastic achievement for the club to have an increased number of age group qualifiers and finalists at this years event.

Nathan Carrington, Development Squad swimmer, made his debut at GB Deaf National Championships at the national swimming centre in Loughborough. After an amazing day of competition Nathan walked away with 2 golds and 1 silver.

Gala Summary for the Rotherham Metro Long Course A Grade Spring Meet

31 YCBC swimmers competed in the Rotherham Metro A Grade Spring LC meet held in Sheffield last weekend, bringing home a grand total of 29 medals, (6 gold, 9 silver and 13 bronze). They competed in 198 swims, 124 of them being top 10 places. Well over 100 personal best times were recorded by swimmers from our competitive squads: National, Club, Regional and County.

Outstanding Squad Performance to End Season

The Club was represented by a squad of 15 girls and 7 boys at the recent City of Bradford Swimming Club, End of Season A/B Meet, over the weekend of 19th/20th July 2014.

The club is delighted that 5 children gained qualifying times (QTs) for the North East Regional Championships (ASANER) and/or Winter Yorkshire Competition (WY) later on in the year. These include:
