We are carefully monitoring the information issued by the government and following the advice of Public Health England. The government has this week published its Coronavirus Action Plan (which you can find on the www.gov.uk website) and, currently, we are in the ‘contain’ phase of the plan.
At The Mount School York, we continue to take precautions regarding visitors to the School including the Sports and Arts facilities out of school hours. I attach two posters that are on display throughout the School. Please bring them to the attention of your members or customers.
We are seeking assurances from everyone that they have not visited a Coronavirus affected region in the last 14 days, as listed by Public Health England. For full details of the areas affected and what you should do if you have travelled, please go to https://www.gov.uk/guidance/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-information-for-the-public
The risk to individuals remains low but, in order to minimise risk to the School and to our customers, we would ask you also to follow the Public Health England advice. If you have not already done so, please communicate with your members or customers and pass the advice on to them.
There are simple steps that everyone can take to protect themselves, their family and others:
- Wash hands regularly with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
- ‘Catch it, Bin it, Kill it’. Catch coughs and sneezes in a tissue ensuring the nose and mouth are fully covered to prevent any spray escaping. Dispose of the tissue as soon as possible in the bin and wash hands or use alcohol-based hand rub to kill any germs.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces in the home and work environment.
I will contact you again if the situation changes or if the advice from Public Health England is significantly revised.
