Over the weekend of Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th January, all squads were busy in action at two different long course competitions. The members of National Squad and a Regional Squad swimmer competed at the City of Sunderland New Year Meet and swimmers from Development, County, Junior Club, Club and Regional competed at the Rotherham Metro A & B Grade Meet in Sheffield.
These meets presented swimmers with the first opportunity of the season to race in a long course pool and give them some long course experience leading into the Yorkshire Championships in February and the national qualifying meets starting in March. The coaching team were very pleased with the technical performances from the swimmers which helped to bring in PB percentages of 67% and 83% and between all squads at both competitions York won 80 medals.
