York City Baths Club entered a squad of 46 swimmers at the City of Leeds, Level 3, New Year Grand Prix Meet over the weekend of 18th and 19th January 2014 at John Charles Centre for Sport.

This Meet was the last opportunity for competitors to achieve Yorkshire Championship Qualifying Times, and congratulations go to the following swimmers for achieving this standard at the Meet:

10 Year Olds

11 Year Olds

Paris Grenier 800m freestyle (10.51.89)

12 Year Olds

Amy Durrant, 800 freestyle (10.22.59)

13 Year Olds

Joan Clayton, 50m backstroke (37.55) and 50m freestyle (31.60)
Beth Barrett, 50m backstroke (37.65)
Sam Russell, 1500m freestyle (18.26.54)

Out of the 229 possible swims, the squad attained 131 Personal Best times!  A solid performance, particularly as many of the younger swimmers were competing for the first time in a Long Course (50m pool) event.

Noteworthy performances included Kimberley Thompson (2/2 PBs); Alex Neale (4/4 PBs); Georgina Rooke (4/4 PBs); Daisy Jackson (2/2PBs); Lucy Jordan (2/2PBs) and Ben Nicholson (3/3 PBs) who registered lifetime best performances in each of the events they entered.

Medals were awarded to the top 8 swimmers in the 9 and 10 year age groups and the top 3 swimmers in the 11, 12, 13, 14 and combined 15+ age groups, so congratulations go to the following swimmers:
