YCBC End Season in Celebration
YCBC swimmers ended their final training session of the season with a very special guest.
YCBC Success at Hull
York City Baths Club was represented by 26 swimmers from its Development, County and Regional Training Squads, at the recent Kingston upon Hull Swimming Club End of Season Gala, over the weekend of 5th/6th July at Ennerdale Leisure Centre.
This was an ideal opportunity for youngsters to gain competitive experience, whilst the more experienced squad members attempted to gain Winter ASANER and Yorkshire qualifying times.
Samuel and Toby Secure ASANER Winter Qualifying Times in Leeds
We extend congratulations to 10yr olds Samuel Pickup and Toby Mayfield as they secured ASANER Winter Qualifying Times at the 2014 B Grade Meet hosted by City of Leeds Swimming Club, at John Charles Centre for Sport, Leeds, over the weekend of 28th/29th June.
Open Water Success for Lucy Nicholson
Lucy Nicholson came Joint First – a remarkable feat in itself for two swimmers to go the distance of 1500m in open water and still have nothing between them – in last weekend’s North East Regional Open Water Championships at Wykenham. YCBC team mate Katarina Bonner came a creditable 5th too. Lucy’s performance was all the better as she has now achieved the qualifying time for the National Open Water Championships to be swum later this month. Well done girls and good luck to Lucy in the National Open Water championships.
YCBC Swimmers Perform at North Yorks School Gala
The club has had very strong links with Huntington School, over the past ten years or so in particular. So it was no surprise that Huntington School were again this year’s York Schools’ representatives in the North Yorkshire Schools Gala held at Harrogate on Saturday 21 June 2014.
Lucy and Paris Gain National Times
The club extends congratulations to Paris Grenier and Lucy Nicholson for achieving Age Group National Qualification Times in their 400m I.M. and Freestyle swims respectively at last weekend’s NERs. The best of luck in July!
