After a long and tough three months of competing between the 1st of March and 31st of May the National Qualifying Window has now closed. The final qualifiers list has now been published and I’m delighted to report on the successes from our YCBC swimmers.
YCBC Age Group swimmers hit the NER championships
16 swimmers from National and Regional Squad competed at the Swim England North East Regional Age Group Championships at Leeds over the weekends of 19th-20th & 26th-27th May.
YCBC swimmers spring into action at Rotherham Metro long course meet
The YCBC swimmers produced another fantastic display at the Rotherham Metro Springtime Long Course Meet. For the second time in less than a month the team recorded over 90% PBs. All training squads were well represented at the competition.
YCBC Masters swimmers compete at Yorkshire Masters Championships
Well done to YCBC masters who won 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals at the Yorkshire Masters Championships which took place on the 12th of May.
YCBC Youth and Senior swimmers hit the NER championships
The Youth and Senior swimmers (aged 15 and over) from the National Squad competed in the Swim England North East Regionals at Sheffield on the 5th and 6th May.
Smashing Saturday at Stocksbridge
All YCBC squads were represented at the Stocksbridge Spring Open Meet at Ponds Forge in Sheffield on Saturday 21st April. After a very busy and long day of competing I am delighted to report on some magnificent performances from the YCBC team.
YCBC swimmers kept busy during National Qualifying window
Swimmers from National and Regional Squad have been busy competing at three national qualifying meets during March and April. There have been some fantastic performances which have posted strong times onto the British and English national rankings.
Four medals and a GB record for Nathan at the Great Britain Deaf Swimming Championships
YCBC swimmer Nathan Carrington competed in 6 races at the Great Britain Deaf Swimming Championships Loughborough University. Nathan had a amazing meet winning a fantastic 3 golds and 1 silver medal and also broke the GB Deaf Record for Under 11 50m BR.
YCBC Swimmers head to the British Schools’ Modern Biathlon Championships
Last weekend a contingent of YCBC swimmers made the trip to the National Sports Centre, Crystal Palace to take part in the National Schools Biathlon Championships. National swimmer Genna Suddes, her brother Philip (Regional Squad), along with County squad swimmers Libby Morrison and the youngest of Team Suddes, Zoe, competed in the swim and run competition.
YCBC swimmers take spring Jorvik meet by storm
YCBC had swimmer representation from all six training squads who were competing at the Jorvik Spring Meet on Sunday 11th March. For many swimmers this meet was the first long course competition of the season.
