Swimmers representing all squads aged between 9 and 18 from York City Baths Club descended on Leeds for an exciting day of sprint events at the Jorvik Sprints Meet on Saturday 17th June. The swimmers registered 198 Personal Best times out of 260 swims (76% PBs). In the process of individuals producing some fantastic performances, York was crowned top club of the meet. Ruby Allitt and Sam Whittaker also won Top Girl and Boy in their age groups.

Training Squads Timetable Changes During National Championships
These changes will take place to ensure appropriate cover whilst supporting those swimmers who are competing at Nationals:
- British Summer Championships – 25th to 30th July
- Swim England National Summer Meet – 2nd to 6th August
Replacement Swimming Sessions
Further to our announcement on the 3rd July, I am pleased to report that with the support of our wonderful teachers we have been able to arrange two replacement sessions for our Sunday swimmers on the following dates:
Pat Baxter funeral arrangements
As you know, our current Vice President, Pat Baxter passed away on 12th July after a short illness. She had been associated with the Club for over 50 years.
For those that would like to attend, we have been advised that Pat’s funeral will take place at York Crematorium at 11am on Monday 31st July, moving afterwards to The Marcia in Bishopthorpe.

It is with great sadness that YCBC has reported the passing of our Vice President Pat Baxter on the morning Wednesday 12th July, after a short illness.
Always cheerful, Pat has been involved with YCBC for just under 80 years in various capacities.
YCBC swimmers rewarded for a season of hard work and success
YCBC is proud to announces that number of our swimmers have sucessfully qualified for the British Summer Championships between the 25th – 30h July, the English National Summer meet between 2nd – 6th August and the National Open water championships.
Qualification for all these championships is based solely on times swam throughout the season.
Nathan Carrington, Development Squad swimmer, at it again!
Whilst competing at the recent Bridlington Swimming Club ‘Seaside Special’ A/B/C Graded Meet, Nathan broke the GB Deaf Record for 11 & Unders 50m breaststroke. Nathan had an amazing swim, producing a new record time of 51.19 seconds.
Nathan Carrington, Development Squad swimmer, brings home some GOLD
Nathan Carrington, Development Squad swimmer, recently competed at National Junior Para-Swimming Championships 2017. The event was funded by Swim England and delivered by the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS).
Held at Sunderland Aquatics Centre on 24 and 25 June, the event provided young disabled swimmers with more competition experience and an opportunity to win medals against national rivals.
Harrogate Summer Graded short course meet – June 2017
Swimmers from four of our training squads (County, Club, National and Regional) competed in the Harrogate Summer Graded short course meet. For most swimmers who raced this was the first short course competition of 2017.
The meet was highly successful for YCBC swimmers with over 75% of the swims as personal best times and winning 50 medals in the process. A number of swimmers also achieved Winter Yorkshire times over the weekend.
