York City Baths Club held its 65th Annual General Meeting at the Mount School on Wednesday 25th February and as part of the proceedings members of the Club elected the Executive Committee for 2015.
With a number of key personnel stepping down, and an increase in the number of volunteers looking to get involved in supporting the administration of the Club, the Executive Committee for 2015 has a new look to it. Your newly elected Committee is looking forward to helping the Club meet whatever challenges lie ahead and building on the fantastic work done by previous members of the Committee. In this respect it is appropriate to highlight the invaluable contributions of three outgoing officers: Alison Perry (Welfare Officer); Paula Hodgson (Honorary Secretary); and Toni Johnston (Chairperson).
Speaking on behalf of the new Executive Committee, Steve Creighton (Chairman) had the following to say:
Having served on the Executive Committee as a General Member during 2014 I have had the opportunity to gain a small insight into the significant amount of work required to ensure the smooth running of YCBC. The Club is a massive concern, akin to a small business, with complexities and challenges to match. Alison, Paula and Toni have served the Club for many years, giving up many hours of their time on a volunteer basis to help administer and promote the Club. It is not possible to overstate the importance to the Club of the dedication and commitment they have shown. On behalf of the entire membership, I would like to extend my most sincere thanks to each of them for the significant and valued contribution they have made.
Your new Executive Committee is looking forward to the challenge of governing the Club and very much hope to promote an environment built on transparency and engagement.
We wish all those involved with the Club a very successful 2015.
