York City Baths Club swimmer, Emma Wills, came home with five medals after competing in five events in the British Gas ASA Nationals Masters and Seniors Short Course Championship 2014 in Sheffield in October.
The National Masters Championships are one of the pinnacles of the competition schedule for competitive adult swimmers, attracting top swimmers including British record holders. Emma broke four personal bests on her way to gaining two silver and three bronze medals in the 35 to 39 year age group. In the 800m and 1500m freestyle, Emma smashed the personal best times she had set at the same competition last year and finished in second place in both events. Emma added to her medal haul with third place finishes in the 100m and 200m backstroke and the 400m freestyle.
These outstanding achievements against such high levels of competition reflect Emma’s hard work and dedication in training – well done Emma!
