It is with great sadness that YCBC has reported the passing of our Vice President Pat Baxter on the morning Wednesday 12th July, after a short illness.
Always cheerful, Pat has been involved with YCBC for just under 80 years in various capacities.
She started at YCBC as an 8yr old swimmer in 1938. She then went on to teach and coach at the club, swim in masters competitions until just a few weeks ago, and had been assisting Jen Hodgson with Development Squad.
Pat was regularly spotted swimming in the morning at Yearsley Pool or riding her bike to training.
At the beginning of 2017, YCBC created the Pat Baxter Award in her honour, an award for endeavour, commitment and determination.
The first recipient of the award was, fittingly, Pat herself.
Full obituary in due course, funeral details to follow.
RIP Pat & thank you, from all at YCBC.
