We are delighted to be able to announce that our Club Captains for this season are National Squad swimmers Ella Fisher and Jason Robson (pictured). Ella and Jason have swum with YCBC for several years and both have represented the Club at National level.
Ella has represented YCBC at British Winter and Summer Nationals since 2016 in multiple events, achieving final places each year. In 2018 Ella qualified for the Swim England British Championships in 100m and 200m Butterfly, and she has already qualified for events at next year’s competition, which will be held in Glasgow.
Jason is a multiple National medallist and is a reigning National Champion (50m Breaststroke). He was also recently part of the Yorkshire team (coached by our very own Head Coach, Josh Spencer) that successfully defended their Division 1 title at the National County Team Championships.
Commenting on their selection Josh Spencer said ‘Ella and Jason are long serving members of the National Squad and during this time they have shown a high level of commitment and dedication to their swimming. Both swimmers have previously demonstrated leadership qualities and will make excellent club captains’.
We plan to take the opportunity to formally ‘introduce’ Ella and Jason to those that may not know them, and congratulate them on their new roles, at our Club Championships in November. In the meantime, if you get a chance, please pass on your own congratulations and best wishes.
Our thanks go to our outgoing Captains, Neola Thorpe and Harry Devlin, for the support they provided throughout last season.
