The YCBC Executive Committee is delighted to confirm that Josh Spencer will take over from Mark Sheldrick as YCBC Head Coach for the start of the 2015/2016 season on 24th August 2015.
Josh has been involved in swimming for the last twenty years. As a swimmer he competed to a National Finalist standard; as a professional coach he has worked alongside some of the top coaches and swimmers in the country.
Josh has coached at various levels, from development squads to national squads. This has given him a thorough understanding of the requirements needed for swimmers to reach their full potential. He has been part of a group who have secured success for teams at national level and who have supported and developed a number of individual athletes onto British Junior and Senior teams.
Josh’s skillset covers both practical and technical aspects of coaching. He joins YCBC from his current position as Lead Regional Coach at City of Leeds, where he also works as Performance Assistant to the national squad.
Josh will be taking part in a YCBC parent forum at some point within the first few weeks after he takes up his position. This will allow Josh to introduce himself and outline his approach for the season ahead.
