The YCBC Executive Committee is delighted to announce that Jennifer Hodgson has been appointed Lead Coach of Development Squad, with effect from Monday 4th January 2016.
Jennifer will be a familiar face to many in the Club, having been a competitive swimmer with YCBC since the age of 9, and the Girl’s Club Captain for the year 2009-2010. She has helped with teaching and coaching at the Club for the last seven years when time has allowed, during her studies. She holds both the ASA Level 2 Coaching Swimming qualification and the ASA Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification; she also holds the NPLQ Lifeguard Qualification. Jennifer’s experience with YCBC includes teaching and coaching children across a range of age groups, from complete beginners to competitive swimmers.
Jennifer is a first class BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching graduate. During her time at Sheffield Hallam University, she coached at City of Sheffield Swim Squad, where she worked alongside GB Olympic coaches to gain a wealth of additional experience to support swimmers throughout their land and water training.
On behalf of the Club, we would like to congratulate Jennifer on her appointment, and welcome the enthusiasm and experience that she will bring to strengthen our coaching team.
Jennifer’s appoinment follows the recent standing down of long-standing Club volunteer Pat Baxter. Pat will continue to attend Development Squad training sessions, but in an advisory capacity only.
