York City Baths Club is delighted to announce that several of its swimmers have achieved the accolade of being invited to swim at this year’s British Summer Championships and/or the ASA National Summer Championships, to be held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, between the 26th July and 5th August 2016. This is a fantastic achievement for the swimmers involved.
To be eligible to swim in the British Summer Championships, a swimmer must have been ranked in the top 24 in the ASA rankings for their age group, for a swim during the qualifying window of 11th March 2016 – 30th May 2016. The next top 20 English swimmers in each age group, outside of those who qualified for the British Summer Championships, are eligible to swim in the ASA National Summer Championships.
Our British Summer Championships qualifiers are:
Harry Devlin, 16: 50m breastroke, 100m breastroke, 200m breastroke
Lucy Nicholson, 16: 400m freestyle, 200m butterfly
Marcus Walker, 14: 50m breastroke
Our ASA National Summer Championships qualifiers are:
Ella Fisher, 14: 200m butterfly
Lucy Nicholson, 16: 800m freestyle, 400m individual medley
Jason Robson, 13: 50m breastroke, 100m breastroke, 200m breastroke, 200m butterfly, 200m individual medley, 400m individual medley
Neola Thorpe, 15: 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly
In addition, Jack Pears-Dorland has qualified for the ASA National Open Water Championships 3K event for 16 year olds, which will take place over the weekend of 23rd/24th July at Rother Valley Country Park.
