Five swimmers represented York City Baths Club at the South Yorkshire Open Masters held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, on the 22nd November 2015, collecting eight medals between them.
Louise Highton won four medals whilst competing in her first gala for over 2 years. She won the 25-29 years 50m and 100m freestyle, and was also the fastest female swimmer overall in both events. Louise added to this with silver medals in the ladies 25-29 years 200m freestyle and 50m backstroke.
A further 4 medals were collected by Nick Boaz, which included gold in the men’s 25-29 years 50m breaststroke, and silver medals in the men’s 50m and 100m freestyle and 100m breaststroke.
Andrea Mao, David Rhodes and Michelle Jenks participated in a further nine events and each finished in the top 8 of their respective age groups.
The South Yorkshire Open Masters was the final gala of 2015 for YCBC masters swimmers and topped off a highly successful year for the Club.
