The club has had very strong links with Huntington School, over the past ten years or so in particular. So it was no surprise that Huntington School were again this year’s York Schools’ representatives in the North Yorkshire Schools Gala held at Harrogate on Saturday 21 June 2014.
Despite missing a couple of our swimmers who were in Sunderland for the hastily rearranged last day of the Age Group NERs (so the school drafted in a few swimmers from the other York schools, who also happen to be YCBC swimmers!!), Huntington School performed very well, and I am reliably informed came in a very close second overall.
We are a club that brings talented swimmers together from the whole of the City Region so I expect there may have been club members also representing other North Yorkshire schools at this gala. Your individual willingness to represent your school is a credit to each and everyone one of you, to build upon your commitment to training to then perform at all opportunities.
We hope that all our swimmers did themselves and their school proud yesterday.
