The Winter Yorkshire Championships was split for a second year into two short course competitions. The purpose of this meet was for the swimmers to demonstrate an improvement in their racing skills from the YCBC Autumn Extravaganza and also for the swimmers to step up to the very high level of racing at the competition.
The first competition was for the 9 to 12 year old swimmers at Leeds. There were 35 Swimmers from YCBC who qualified and competed from the Development, County, Club, Regional and National Squads.
The second competition was held in Sheffield for swimmers aged 13 and over. York had 22 Swimmers from National and Club Squad competing over the weekend.
Combined over the two weekends York achieved 178 PBs with a 64% PB count. The YCBC swimmers achieved a medal tally of 19 which is a significant improvement from the same meet last year.
