The YCBC Executive Committee is delighted to announce that the Club has recently engaged Shelley Postchild in the new role of Teaching Co-ordinator. Shelley formally commenced this role on the 19th October 2015.
The duties associated with this role are extensive and will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Ensuring the safe and smooth running of the learn to swim teaching section
- Developing the teaching programme in line with the ASA national plan for swimming
- Co-ordinating and overseeing swimmer movements in the teaching section
- Co-ordinating the sprints programme for the teaching section
- Acting as a consistent point of contact for parents of swimmers in the teaching section
- Acting as the main point of contact for volunteers involved in the teaching section
- Engaging volunteer swimming teachers and poolside helpers
- Planning and organising cover for teaching sessions
Shelley will work closely with Head Coach Josh Spencer and the volunteer teaching community in order to deliver this role. The Executive Committee view this appointment as an important investment in the teaching section and look forward to watching this part of the Club grow and develop under the stewardship of Josh and Shelley.
As a result of this appointment, Shelley will no longer serve as a member of the Executive Committee. She will however continue to be a valued member of the Swimming Committee.
