YCBC Swimmers hit the Yorkshire Swimming Association Open Masters and Senior Age Group Competition
Saturday the 12th May was a nice day for a walk, some gardening or perhaps the first opportunity to dust off the bar-b-que; however Emma Wills, Scott Brown, Leonardo Lari and Andrea Meo had other things on their minds.
The Yorkshire Swimming Association Open Masters and Senior Age Group Competition in Leeds was their focus and driven by a desire to compete and a desire to win, our four swimmers found themselves poolside, focused, determined and waiting for their events.
The Italian contingent of the club swam well with Andrea coming 6th in both the 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly and Leonardo securing bronze in the 100m breaststroke and just missing out on bronze in the 50m by 0.23s.
Having seen Scott poolside not looking a day over forty, he can’t possible have been entered in the right age group. His first gala for 3 years, Scott had lost none of his determination, bringing home bronze, gold and silver in the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle respectively as well as silver in the 50m fly – a good haul.
Our fourth swimmer, Emma, delivered again and secured gold in both her races; 100m and 400m freestyle.
With seven medals between them, well done to all!
