What are the speed awards?
Approximately three times per year, York City Baths Club provides a competitive stage for the lime green, dark green, blue and red hat swimmers within the teaching section of the club to participate in Speed Awards. It is an opportunity for the children to experience the thrill of racing within a familiar and friendly environment, and an invaluable opportunity for the teaching staff and coaches to identify those swimmers who show a talent in this format of the sport. With badges and certificates available to those achieving a recognised standard, these events are filled with an air of excited trepidation by swimmers and parents alike.
