On Sunday 22nd September the swimmers from the National Squad were in action for the first time this season competing at the City of Sheffield Teaspoon Meet alongside a small number of the Regional Squad swimmers.
The meet consisted of the four 50 metre stroke events with the opportunity of a final for the fastest eight swimmers in each age category. Instead of receiving a medal for a top three finish, the swimmers received a teaspoon.
There were 94 heat swims in which over 50% were personal best times and over 50% of the swims qualifying for the finals. Nine swimmers won 18 teaspoons between them.
